I grew up with flat hair.
At school, that mattered more than it should have.
The search
School is tough at the best of times.
My hair became one of the few things I felt I could control.
Looking back, it was never really about hair.
It was about confidence.
I tried everything that promised it.
Gels. Waxes. Clays.
Nothing lasted. Nothing felt made for me.
Moving on
As I left school and began pursuing my passion for science, I stumbled across social media.
Through video, I found a way to say the things I’d never quite been able to put into words.
Without really realising it, I started working on a solution to a problem I’d been battling with every day.
Flat hair.
The spark
In a small log cabin in Scotland, my best friend and I finally sat down and shaped what would become the beginnings of Montx.
Like all good ideas, it didn’t arrive fully formed.
It took hours of conversation, frustration, and belief.
Years of testing and setbacks
What followed was a long road of trial and error.
Different manufacturers. Endless refinement.
A refusal to settle for "good enough".
Until we finally crafted something we truly believe in.

Mont(x) means mountain in Italian, and to summit in French.

You can join Montx Club by purchasing a subscription to the Montx Hair Texturizing Tool.
If you'd like to become a member without getting the Texturizing Tool, you can purchase an annual membership towards the top of this page.

All event invitations are shared exclusively with Montx Club members.

Yes. The yearly membership option allows access to the club even if the product isn’t right for your hair type.

In future, we’d love to meet everyone in person. For now, as we can’t quite take over a whole festival, invites are limited and run on a lottery system.
Currently, events are held in the UK. They’re 18+ at the moment — we’re working on opening things up.
It just works! Its not sticky, or greasy, or damaging at all. Use as directed, and you’re done in 30 seconds. And the kicker? It smells fantastic!

First off, this isn’t a holding product, it is a texturing product. Don’t Expect it to hold up hair that is longer than 3 inches. But it is insanely good, textures amazing and the best part. Rinses off my hands easily, 10/10 product

As a product I like. It makes my hair puffy and nice but for me there is one issue the smell I am sensitive to smell and it smells like chemicals to me I would Love this product if it had a scentless version if it did it would be a 5/5
